For effective teaching, and learning in the classroom, the feedback exchange mechanism plays a significant role. It is a critical and crucial element in the education system that ensures the growth and development of both teachers and learners. Boosting one’s confidence level, giving the motivation to improve, and becoming the better version of oneself are some of the main benefits of feedback exchange in education.

We have been hearing that giving feedback to students is necessary for social, academic, and professional growth of students.  However, along with this, teachers also need to know how they are performing, and what more they can do to broaden the learning experience and procedure of students by seeking feedback. Let us discuss the advantages of feedback exchange in the classroom.

    Benefits of feedback exchange

    1. Make students feel valued

Every student wants attention, personal time, and affection from the teachers. Students feel more valued when teachers appreciate them for their strengths, show their weaknesses, and suggest ways for progress. Also when teachers seek feedback from students, they feel more involved with teaching, learning, and other class discussions. This leads to the development of a safe, secure, d and constructive class environment. Active listening and communication skills also enhance educators and learners.

    2. Helps in improving the teaching practices

Every teacher aims to provide students with a quality education by adopting effective teaching strategies. However, in a classroom full of students, all are different from one another. They have different learning needs, styles, and expectations. Only one teaching pattern may not fit all. Therefore, seeking feedback from students is quite important. Teachers should ask students how the current lesson plans and teaching methods are working for them. The positive response will encourage teachers to continue the good work. Other than this, listen to the students’ concerns, problems and suggestions and take appropriate measures for enriching the teaching and enhancing learning experience.

    3. Enhance student’s class performance

The primary duty of every teacher is to contribute to the academic growth and development of the students. To do so, sharing feedback with learners is the need of the hour. To do so, teachers should use the ERP for school to keep digital records of students’ current learning status. See how students are performing, and what more needs to be done for improvement and give feedback accordingly. This helps students to know what is expected from them and how to achieve their actual goals.

    4. Boost interpersonal relations

Feedback exchange in the classroom allows for bringing positive changes and opportunities. This fosters a positive teacher and student relationship. When educators and learners share feedback, they develop a sense of community and trust among each other. The suggestions, guidance, and support received help students to expand and ensure their learning progress. Teachers also feel more confident and involved with students by receiving points for improvement and betterment in teaching.

How to give effective feedback to students

    • Track their performance

To give effective feedback to the students, the first step to follow is tracking the performance. Teachers should analyze well how students are performing in the class, what is the average of their class participation, and the quality of assignments respectively. By using school ERP, teachers can keep digital records of student’s class performance, manage all the tasks better and become more productive. This will help teachers to appreciate students for the good and share growth measures too.

    • Keep it constructive and educative

The next point of importance is to keep feedback educative and constructive. Teachers should always start by appreciating the students for their strengths, qualities, and efforts. Make sure to use the right language with students to not sound rude or harsh. Follow the compliment: correct: compliment policy and now tell students where they are lagging and what more needs to be done for improvement. You should teach your students to have a constructive mindset.

    • Share it promptly

Sharing feedback lately is not at all useful for students. If teachers are not able to manage time and give feedback too late, students are not able to connect and relate to what the teacher is saying. To make your feedback impactful and valuable for students, make sure to give a timely response to them. For example, if students are submitting a particular assignment or test today, try to revert to them within one or two days. This will help students to respond and remember the feedback better.

    Conclusion

For quality teaching and learning, sharing feedback is very important. By reading the above-mentioned information, we can make out the benefits of feedback exchange among teachers and students respectively. We also discussed a few tips that teachers can follow to give effective and valuable feedback to the students for ensuring their learning success.
