Firstly, you need to complete a Bachelors degree in education. This degree is available from colleges and universities in most states in India. Some even offer correspondence courses, if you do not wish to go to college. Those who wish to teach in the central government schools need to clear the CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test), a standardized examination. However, before deciding to pursue a career in teaching, you must have adequate knowledge of the subject that you intend to teach.
To become a teacher
You need to start preparing from a young age. You should know your subject and be good with students. Patience and understanding are essential traits that make a good teacher. During school, you should focus on developing patience, which is essential for the job. Once you have completed your 10+2 exams, you can begin teaching. You can also get experience while you are still pursuing your B.Ed degree. If you want to work for the government, you must complete B.Ed.
Apply for
In order to apply for a teacher’s job, you must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in education. Besides, a master’s degree will help you be more employable. Alternatively, you can choose to get a teaching training certificate, Basic Training Certificate, or a Diploma in Education. Once you have successfully completed your undergraduate degree, you can apply for a Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). This exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education.
