The Great Gatsby is a book that is very much a part of our culture. We see it almost daily on the news, and in our own backyards, where it is almost expected to be read to our children. The story follows a group of friends as they set out on a cross-country journey with the goal of finding their fortune. The central character in the book is a poor boy who has just lost everything, including his job as a house painter. In this country, that means he has no money and no home, and he decided to cross the country to find somewhere to call his own. The story is about human greed and its darker side, which is what drives these characters in the book. Even though it is set in the modern day, the characters still feel very old, even as they are trying to find a new life.
Moonrise Kingdom
When it comes to nights out in Paris, we have a few suggestions. First, we have the Bambi movie, followed closely by the Moana movie. Once we get past that, there are a few other choices that will give us a better idea of what we should be looking for. If you are looking for a romantic evening, you should definitely give Moonrise Kingdom a try. The story is very similar to that of Cinderella, but instead of going to a fairy-tale-like setting, you are instead given a contemporary setting, with endless endless stars and a tapestry of colorful lights. The story follows a group of kids who move to a new house, and while they try to adjust to their new life, they also learn a lot about themselves, while making friends and falling in love. These are definitely two books that will seek to educate your kids on different aspects of love, while also inspiring them to be better people.
The Polar Express
This is another classic that our family loves. Our favorite character from the book is a little boy riding in the Polar Express, teaching kids all around about reading and writing. Although the Polar Express is not a child’s book, there are still plenty of compelling characters and events that will stick in the kids’ minds long after the book is done. We also have the idea of a traveling novel, which can be found in a few different forms. We think of it as a children’s novel, but there are many different ways to bring it to life. We usually read it to our kids at night, and they usually follow suit, as soon as they are done reading, and they are ready to go to bed. This is always an interesting take on the story, and your kids will definitely want to know what happens next.
A Girl, A Car, and a Pickup-Stop in the Big City
This one should come with a special introduction, as this is one of the most requested nights out in Paris. We all have different passions, and one of them is travel. The Big City is one of our favorite cities to visit, and it is also one of the best ways to spend a night out in Paris. We get the itch for public transportation as soon as we step outside, and that is what leads to the famous pick-up-stop in the middle of the city. We recommend going to the next day after a night out, as you can always nip back to the hotel to stock up on food and drink, if you’d like to stay out longer. Pick up-Stops are places where you can park your car and just happens to be next to a public toilet. If you are looking for something more official, we suggest heading to the Eiffel Tower, where you can take a picture with the lights, and then take that picture with the Eiffel Tower, before taking a picture with your car and driving away.
Bambi
This is a must-see for any family on any trip to Paris. We grew up on Bambi, a children’s novel about a young couple who travel to a new country together. We have all been lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to read this novel when we were 10 years old, and we still remember being mesmerized by its beautiful language and simple story. Bambi is all about love, and it is all about the little bits that make it bloom. The characters are all such simple, adorable creatures that you will feel like you are right there in their shoes. This is another classic that your kids will definitely want to see on the big screen, and there are many versions of it to choose from.
