    Benefits of using aluminium-clad panels

    JonesBy JonesJanuary 18, 2023No Comments3 Mins Read

Aluminium-clad panels are widely used in the construction industry. They are made by bonding a thin layer of aluminium to the surface of a different type of material. For example, steel-clad panels have an aluminium layer on top of a steel plate. This combination makes them more durable than other types of building materials. This article discusses various benefits of using aluminium cladding panels in commercial, residential, or industrial buildings.

    Durable and long-lasting

The most important benefit is that the material is very durable. As it does not rust or rot, it does not need to be painted or stained or treated with chemicals for protection. This means aluminium-clad panels will last longer than many other materials used in construction projects and buildings. Durability isn’t just about how long something lasts; it’s also about how much of your time and money you spend maintaining a structure over its lifetime. When you’re considering an aluminium-clad roofing system compared to another option, such as steel sheeting (which requires painting every 10 years) or galvanised steel (which requires repainting every 20-25 years), you’ll find that using aluminium instead saves you money on maintenance costs down the road!

    More resistance to corrosion

The corrosion resistance of aluminium depends on its thickness. A thin layer of aluminium will corrode faster than a thick layer because it doesn’t have enough mass to protect itself from corrosion if a protective coating or paint does not protect it.

    Has high strength

Aluminium’s high strength-to-weight ratio makes it a good choice for building and construction. The metal is also corrosion-resistant, so there’s less need to use other materials that can weaken or corrode over time. These properties make aluminium cladding panels ideal for various applications, from kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities to commercial buildings and aerospace structures—places where weight or durability is critical.

    Fireproof

Aluminium-clad panels are highly fire-resistant and have excellent thermal conductivity. They also do not support the spread of fire, which is why they are used in buildings with a high fire risk.

While this material does not melt at high temperatures, it does begin to lose its structural integrity at much lower temperatures than other metals like steel. However, aluminium’s ability to resist corrosion means that it can be used in applications where other materials wouldn’t be suitable.

These panels are often used as cladding on commercial buildings because they create a more attractive finish while retaining their strength and durability characteristics that lend themselves well to industrial or manufacturing applications.

    Easily moulded

They are easy to mould. They can be easily moulded into different shapes and used to make various parts of a building, vehicle or other product. The aluminium skin on the panel’s surface is thin enough to be easily moulded with simple tools such as a hammer or an electric drill.

For example, a company that makes aeroplane parts could buy such clad panels and use them as templates to make parts highly precise. This would mean they can save money because they don’t need special equipment or machines to make their products.

Aluminium-clad panels are an excellent choice for many applications in your home or business. Their durability and versatility make them ideal for use in any room with moisture or water damage, such as bathrooms and kitchens. They can be moulded into any shape to fit your needs and come in various styles, from traditional wood grain finishes to modern metallic textures. You’ll find such panels at most hardware stores today!
