Incorporating Trends into Event Design: Making Your Event Stand Out

    JonesBy JonesOctober 3, 2023No Comments3 Mins Read

It is difficult to keep up with changing event trends. It also causes ambiguity regarding technology and audience expectations, making long-term event planning difficult. Creating an event concept that guests will speak about for months afterward requires a combination of strategy and imagination. For more information, click here.

    What is event design?

An event’s overall look and feel are referred to as event design. Decor, venue layouts, and thematic elements all influence event design.

    What is event styling?

Event style includes the visual components of an event, such as lighting, flowers, and tablecloths. As you might expect, an event stylist is responsible for making these aspects come to life. Typically, they will follow the vision of the event designer and try their best to ensure that their work also matches the client’s expectations.

The fundamental distinction between event design and event styling is that event designers focus on developing an overall style for an event and primarily focus on big-picture concepts. In contrast, an event stylist crafts and executes the specifics of that idea. Their duty often entails styling not simply the venue but also the cuisine and, on occasion, the highlighted visitors (such as bridal parties or guest speakers) or employees.

The distinction between an event concept and an event theme

The overarching concept of the event is a theme. It typically involves the overall tone, structure, and goals of the event. An event concept may sound similar, but it is separate. An event concept is defined as the details and features of the event’s practical characteristics.

In brief, event designers devote more effort to developing the overall event theme, whereas event stylists concentrate on the event idea, i.e., bringing the theme to life.

The basics of designing an event

You can follow each of these essential steps regardless of the sort of event you are planning.

Establish precise and detailed event objectives and a mechanism for monitoring event ROI.

This serves as the foundation for all event theme selections. Otherwise, you are just selecting interesting event topics at random.

    Learn about your target audience.

The easiest strategy for determining your target audience for an event is to study whatever data you may have on past event attendance. Surveys, ticket sales rates, and even social media shares may inform you about their preferences and dislikes.

    Hire professional event designers.

The event business is always developing, and remaining informed is critical for event planners to provide excellent guest experiences. Professional event designers will have expertise and knowledge of current design trends and can help you create an event that is memorable for you and your attendees.
